  • About The Program

    The Hair Program at Hair Design Centre prepares students to become licensed hairstylists through comprehensive hands-on and theoretical training. You’ll learn hair cutting, colouring, styling, and chemical treatments, alongside essential topics like sanitation, client consultation, and salon operations. The curriculum aligns with the Cosmetology Association of Nova Scotia (CANS) requirements, preparing students to write the CANS certification exam to receive their license in Nova Scotia. The program also includes On The Job Training (OJT) to help students transition into the workforce.

    The Esthetics Program delivers expert training in skincare, beauty services, and spa treatments. You’ll learn everything from facials and massage to nail care, waxing, makeup, and more—combining theory, anatomy, and hands-on practice. The program meets the Cosmetology Association of Nova Scotia (CANS) requirements, enabling graduates to write the CANS certification exam for licensure in Nova Scotia. On The Job Training (OJT) helps bridge the gap between school and salon.

You’ll train in small group settings and learn everything from colour theory to contouring and corrective techniques. The curriculum is aligned with Cosmetology Association of Nova Scotia (CANS) standards, preparing students to write the CANS certification exam for licensure in Nova Scotia.

    • ~300 hours over 15 weeks (part-time)

    The Lash Technician Program provides specialized training in lash extensions, lash lifting, and tinting. Students learn to customize looks based on facial anatomy while mastering precision techniques in small group settings. You'll also learn the science behind nail care, including anatomy, chemistry, and sanitation practices. The program adheres to Cosmetology Association of Nova Scotia (CANS) guidelines, allowing students to write the CANS certification exam for licensure.
